France to Taiwan Patent Annual Fee Renewal Services

No need to change the Patent Agent in Taiwan to pay the Patent Renewal Fee.
In addition to the patent fees paid to the Taiwan IPO (Intellectual Property Office), Evershine’s service fee per patent will be usd 30 (excluding VAT).

As per the practices regulated by the Taiwan IPO, foreign-owned patents can be assigned to any Taiwan patent attorney for the payment of Patent Renewal fees.

The renewal official fees for various patents in Taiwan are determined by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO). These fees are paid to the government and are based on the fee schedule provided by TIPO. The annual fee can be paid for one year at a time or several years at a time.
Patents can be renewed up to 6 months before the due date.
The annual fee can still be legally paid within 6 months after the due date, but there is a surcharge fee of 20%-100%.

Taiwan Patent ACT: Article 94 Addition of annuity
If the annuity for the second or any subsequent year is not paid within the specified time period, a
late payment can be made within six (6) months after the original due date with a specified
percentage addition.
The additional annuities based on the specified percentage addition as stated in the preceding
paragraph means that the additional annuity shall be paid depending on the amount of time
elapsed from the original due date. For every month that has elapsed, an additional fee at a ratio of
20% shall be paid; the maximum of the additional fee shall be the same as the amount originally
due.
The elapsed time from one day to one month shall be deemed as one month.

How is the exchange rate for the selected currency to pay the annual patent renewal fee in Taiwan confirmed with France?
Answer:
Once your company confirms and signs the “Patent Appointment Confirmation Form,” we will use the selling exchange rate of the day on which Evershine prints the “Patent Payment Receipt” as provided by Taiwan Bank to convert the fee into the selected payment currency of your company.

Workflow of Taiwan Patent Renewal Service as below:

Step 1:
Foreign patent owners or patent law firms provide “Major Patent Information”: Patent Granted by TAIWAN, Patent application number, Patent publication number , chosen payment location and currency.
Step 2:
Based on the above ”Major Patent Information , we use RPA (Robotic Process Automation) to obtain the patent detailing information from Taiwan IPO and check the correctness of the data, and then generate “Annual Patent Fee Confirmation Letter.”
Step 3:
Send “Annual Patent Fee Confirmation Letter” by email for client confirmation.
Step 4:
Use the confirmed “Patent Annual Fee Confirmation Letter” to run a “Patent Annual Fee Payment Notice”.
Step 5:
The client takes the “Patent Annual Fee Payment Notice” to remit the money to Evershine Seoul Subsidiary. The remittance can be made by ATM, bank counter or other collection and payment.
Step 6:
After receiving payment from you  through  one of Evershine Seoul subsidiary, immediately notify the responsible Evershine colleague in TAIWAN , accessing the website of the intellectual property o office of TAIWAN, to pay patent annual fee through Evershine Taiwan bank account.
Use RPA (Robotic Process Automation) to check if successful to pay out at Taiwan IPO and raise the alarm if it is unsuccessful.
After making the payment, we will obtain the government fee receipt and forward it to the patent holder in Taiwan. We will also obtain and provide your company with the relevant certificates: remittance receipt, renewal certificate, and a link to the updated status on the website.
